Conference Fee
For a single delegate the Conference Fee is 200.- EUR.
The Conference Fee includes:
- all conference materials - official ID of the United Nations Office at Vienna for the periode of VIMUN - certificate of participation - meals at Sunday evening (self payment of drinks) - meals and drinks on Monday evening - meals and drinks on Tuesday evening
Reduced Conference Fee
For participants of the following three groups the Conference Fee is only 180.- EUR:
a) Regular Members of the UNYSA-AUSTRIA - AFA, who have paid their annual membership fee (not valid for "International Members").
b) Delegates, who participated at VIMUN or HISTOMUN in previous years ("Veterans").
c) Members of a "Delegation": A delegation is a group of VIMUN participants consisting of at least five people. Still, each participant is a single representative/delegate of one country in one of the committees. Though, each participant of the delegation might represent the same country in the different committees. The two main advantages for participating at VIMUN as delegation are joint preparation and financial reduction for all delegates. The Conference Fee for each participant within a delegation is 180,- EUR. Please indicate the name of the Head of Delegation for your group on the registration form.
Chaperons
Chaperons are persons who accompany a delegation to the conference (eg. Faculty Advisors). For chaperons the Conference Fee is 100.- EUR.
Financial Support
The actual costs for organizing the conference are much higher than the Conference Fees charged of the participant. Thanks to the sponsors the UNYSA-AUSTRIA - AFA receives generous financial support to keep Conference Fees as low as possible. Therefore, every participant will be asked to sign an according form at the Registration Table upon arrival.
Only under very special circumstances might participants be granted additional financial support in form of reduced Conference Fees. A corresponding request has to be sent to the Secretary General of VIMUN (vimun@afa.at) with details about the participant's social and financial situation. If this additional support is available the participant will receive an official confirmation mail from the Secretary General. Other arrangements are not possible. Participants will be asked to present this confirmation mail at the registration table at the beginning of the conference in Vienna.
Participants are also encouraged to find funding sources in their home countries for which purpose the UNYSA-AUSTRIA - AFA can provide a letter of support.
Please understand that most institutions (Federal Ministries etc.) in Austria have already been asked by the UNYSA-AUSTRIA - AFA for supporting the conference. Therefore, it would be useless if students from abroad would contact them also individually. Consequently, participants are strictly requested not to contact institutions in Austria for scholarships.
Hotel Fee
For those participants requiring accommodation, the UNYSA-AUSTRIA - AFA has arranged a special package at the Hotel Park Inn Vienna. The hotel is located directly opposite the United Nations Office at Vienna and near Vienna's largest recreational area, the "Donauinsel" (with lots of water sport facilities).
This package provides a substantial discount allowing participants to stay in a double room for four nights at a special price of 212.- EUR per person. The price for a single room for four nights is 360.- EUR.
The Hotel Fee includes: breakfast-buffet; 24 hours complimentary coffee & cookies; use of the fitness facilities; free underground parking; in-room coffee maker and coffee; room programme; air-conditioning (individually adjustable); free internet access in the business area with printing service; cable TV; iron; iron board. In the room a fax modem connection and a minibar (in price not included) is also provided.
Travel Expenses
Each participant has to take care of his/her travel arrangements individually. The UNYSA-AUSTRIA - AFA is not able to provide financial support.
Meals
The Conference Fee includes meals and beverages at most social events in the evenings. All other meals have to be covered by the participants. For lunch the UNYSA-AUSTRIA - AFA has arranged for participants the allowance to eat at the canteen of the UN-Headquarter Vienna together with the "real" diplomats. The UNOV canteen offers international cuisine at reasonable prices.
Bank Transfer
After registration is completed the Conference/Hotel Fee has to be transferred to the UNYSA-AUSTRIA - AFA not later than by 1 July 2010.
As payments via credit cards or cash are not possible participants are requested to transfer the fees to the following account:
