Sunday: Welcome Dinner
On Sonday evening we will have the opportunity to visit the traditional Viennese "Heuriger Feuerwehr Wagner" (tbc). “Heuriger” is the Viennese term for the wine of the last grape harvest. And it is also the name of the places where this wine is served. “Let’s go to heuriger” is an invitation that marks the beginning of a sociable evening full of fun. At the Dinner you will enjoy Viennese cousine (self payment of drinks).
Monday: Reception at the Vienna City Hall (tbc)
Monday evening, after the first day of negotiations in the committees, we will be hosted by the Mayor of Vienna, Dr. Michael Häupl, in the impressive town hall. An official representative of the Viennese Government will welcome you. We will have the possibility to shake a leg (if you like to waltz) and try out Viennese food and free beverages.
Tuesday: Reception at the Spanish Riding School (tbc)
On Tuesday evening you are invited by the Foreign Policy and United Nations Association of Austria (UNA-AUSTRIA) to a reception at their premises. The UNA-AUSTRIA is situated in the heart of Vienna, the "Hofburg", which is the old imperial palace. The club room, opened by Austrian Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger and former Austrian Federal Chancellor Wolfgang Schüssel in early 2010, is a meeting point for diplomacy. The club is located at "Stallburg" (= stables) of the Spanish Riding School with its world famous "Lipizzaner" horses. Small sandwiches and free drinks are provided.
Wednesday: Clubbing at "Platzhirsch" (tbc)
On last day of our MUN, there will be a big party. The club "Platzhirsch" (= name usually used for a leading location in a town) is, due to its central location in the heart of Vienna (directly on the ring vis a vis of the State Opera), a very popular and trendy event hotspot. An exceptional atmosphere is offered due to the successful fusion of modernity and tradition. It’s going to be a great evening!
